THE FUTURE OF JAZZ MUSIC IS IN GOOD HANDS

Next Gen Jazz

This fabulous ensemble has performed at the Northern Ontario Music Festival repeatedly to a gold standard, earning them invitations to MusicFest Canada. They have also demonstrated their prowess at the Sudbury Music Festival where they have received diamond award status.

The aim of the ensemble is to provide a diverse musical experience within an inclusive setting that develops creativity and leadership in our youth while fostering a love for music and providing opportunities for artistic expression in a safe environment.

JSYB is led by a team of some of Sudbury’s finest musicians and educators. These passionate directors inspire and prepare the ensemble for live public performances. They foster strong musicianship skills in all members and are building the foundation of the future of Sudbury’s professional musicians.

The band’s directors are Mitch McIntyre, Brittany Goldsborough and Peter Scherzinger with Jazz Sudbury liaisons, Allan Walsh and Carolyn Otto. Jazz Sudbury is proud of these talented young artists and their directors. Congratulations!

All members are required to audition for this ensemble. Auditions are a chance to demonstrate the candidates’ skills to the directors, to chat and to get to know individual goals and past experiences. It’s a low-pressure informal process. Visit the JSYB website HERE for details on upcoming auditions and material for the 2026/27 edition of the ensemble.
